The creators of the Siouxperman Triathlon realized there are few half marathons within a reasonable proximity to Sioux Center; you have to go a long ways to find yourself a race.  Harvest Half found a time of year when Iowa has agreeable temperatures and beautiful fall scenery. With the race set between the Minneapolis marathon and Des Moines marathon, from a training perspective, athletes have a nice event.
